About This Tool
Split PDF separates one document into smaller PDFs using page ranges or individual-page output. It helps when recipients need only a chapter, section, or set of forms.
What You Can Do
Range splitting
Define the page groups that should become separate files.
Individual pages
Create page-by-page outputs when each sheet must stand alone.
Original order
Pages remain in their source order inside every selected range.

Practical Use Cases
Chapter distribution
Send individual chapters without sharing the full manual.
Form separation
Separate a scanned packet into one PDF per form.
Privacy and File Processing
Split PDF keeps its PDF input in browser memory while the operation runs. The workflow creates PDF for local preview or download and does not send the entered values or selected file bytes to the GXA Toolbox application server.

How It Works
The parser resolves each requested physical page range and copies those page objects into separate PDF outputs while retaining source order within every range.
Limitations and Important Notes
- Ranges must refer to pages that exist.
- Splitting does not OCR scanned pages or reduce image quality.
- A large number of outputs can consume substantial browser memory.
Worked Example
Splitting pages 1-3, 4-8, and 9-10 creates three PDFs while preserving the order within each range.
Helpful Tips
- Use Extract PDF Pages when you need one combined subset.
- Confirm whether displayed PDF numbering differs from physical page order.
