Inspect structured data

JSON formatting requires valid JSON but does not enforce an application schema. A regex tester uses the browser’s expression engine; patterns from another dialect may behave differently.

Compare or fingerprint

A text diff compares visible input lines. A digest compares bytes and needs a trusted reference to support an integrity check. Neither is a malware scan.

Prepare text and values

Count words for a rough writing check, convert timestamp units deliberately, or generate a fresh password rather than reusing one. Placeholder text generation belongs in mockups, not published claims.

Data terminology and questions

Encoding is a representation; hashing is a fixed-length digest; validation checks a rule. Does valid JSON prove correct business data? No. Does a hash authenticate a publisher by itself? No. Avoid pasting credentials into diagnostic tools.

Read before choosing a workflow

The guides explain output tradeoffs and verification steps rather than promising identical fidelity for every source file.
